Hello everyone!
Welcome to the second article of the Inside Lumos: The Dying Light series! (well, this is technically the third post, but well, technicalities schmechnicalities :p) Today, I'm gonna be talking about another game mode: Blood Moon mode!
Blood Moon mode button in the Main Menu screen
So what is the Blood Moon game mode all about? No, it will not turn your nonbasic lands into mountains. And no, it does not have any relationship with the first full moon after the harvest moon. To put it simply, the Blood Moon game mode is the Normal game mode ON STEROIDS.
Not really a great way to start your day
All the enemies move faster and spawn at a higher rate and their Level 4 versions appear sooner compared to the Normal Mode. Not to mention the game mode also has two new enemy types!
Fogmite - These guys are similar to tap enemies except they appear and move around you in random arrangements. But here's the catch: Once they die, they will leave a dark fog that will stay for quite some time in the area making enemies under them quite hidden. They are pretty annoying too, so watch out for them. Below is a video of them in action:
Warpod - If you've watched the video above, you can see a glimpse of these enemies. Warpods are a special type of enemy that can only be found in this game mode. They are so special that whenever they appear, the background (and bgm) changes with them! That's a fair enough warning of the destruction these creatures may bring.
In order to kill these Warpods, you must draw a circular shape around them! (Mind you, it need not be a perfect circle. An oval-ish shape will do.) And what's more, the large Warpods have 5 lives! Every time they lose a life, they will teleport somewhere closer to you and will churn out 2 baby Warpods (which only have 1 life). Disposing of these enemies without losing life will really take some challenge, and you are very welcome to try your luck! Below is a video of these Warpods in action:
So there you have it. Two new pesky enemies, one new game mode. Are you up for the Blood Moon challenge?
